My Top 3 Book Picks of 2017

My favorite titles of the year are…

There were some amazing books put out in 2017 by some great authors. That made choosing my top 3 picks a tough task to manage, but I persevered. If you haven't read these bad boys, then get yourself over to Amazon and Barnes & Noble and pick 'em up because they're just that good.

The Broken Way by Ann Voskamp
This is non-fiction at its finest. Author Ann Voskamp is a true wordsmith, painting word images that stick with you. Nobody likes to be broken or have their world shaken up, but as humans, we're all broken in some way, shape or form. This book deals with the very gritty fear and pain of brokenness and gives a hopeful message that even while living inside a hot mess, there is freedom and joy.

Lady Jayne Disappears by Joanna Davidson Politano
After reading this debut novel, Joanna Politano soared to the top of my favorite authors list. The woman can write! This Victorian mystery is a gem of a read. Here's a blurb:

When Aurelie Harcourt's father dies in debtor's prison, he leaves her just two things: his wealthy family, whom she has never met, and his famous pen name, Nathaniel Droll. Her new family greets her with apathy and even resentment. Only the quiet houseguest, Silas Rotherham, welcomes her company.

When Aurelie decides to complete her father's unfinished serial novel, writing the family into the story as unflattering characters, she must keep her identity as Nathaniel Droll hidden while searching for the truth about her mother's disappearance--and perhaps even her father's death.

A Moonbow Night by Laura Frantz
Colonial Americana at its finest. The love story is sizzling and so is the danger. Here's a blurb:

On the vast, uncharted Kentucky frontier of the 1770s, Temperance Tucker has learned to be fleet of foot, accurate with her rifle, and silent about the past. But her family secrets complicate her growing attraction to a handsome Virginia land surveyor with a harsh history of his own. Will the hurts and hardships of the past prevent them from a fulfilling future?
