Redefining Courage

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes.

Courage. What did you just think of when you read that word? Maybe you pictured a fireman running into a blazing building to rescue a baby. Or Harriet Tubman leading fugitive slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad. Or maybe even Jesus hanging on a cross. Those are all great examples of courage.

But they're not the only ones.

Courage doesn't always have to be death defying. Sometimes it's simply opening your eyes in the morning to face another day. You may not be slaying dragons, but that doesn't mean you're not courageous. You're just a human struggling to do what you're afraid to do.

And that takes guts.
