Following Your Dreams

Everyone has a dream, but not all follow after it whole-heartedly.

I admit it. I've been a little slack about keeping up with the ol' blog. But what better time to turn over a new leaf than in autumn? So here we go with a new schedule for this writer off the leash. The new line-up will be:

  • Motivational Monday
  • Writing Wednesday
  • Fiction Friday

Being that today is indeed a Monday, here's your weekly dose of inspiration:

It's been a lifelong dream of mine to walk into a bookstore and pull off a novel from the shelf with my name on it. That dream came true…but not without a lot of blood, sweat, and buckets of tears.

It wasn't by luck and it wasn't by genius that I achieved that dream. It was just plain hard work. Daily perseverance. Parking my rear in a chair and pounding out one word at a time.

And it was so worth it.

Don't wait for tomorrow to follow your dream. No one is guaranteed a tomorrow. And for sure don't listen to those who shoot down your ambition. Not everyone is going to "get" your dream. Oh, they may understand what it is you're after, but not exactly why. And you know what? That's okay, because it's your dream, not theirs.

Plug your ears to the naysayers and forge ahead today on the path to whatever goal it is that you hold dear. A baby step is better than no step. Here is your permission and slight nudge to dare to take that step.
