Fiction Friday: Stillwaters

Don’t let the placid title fool you…this is one riveting read.

Okay, I admit it. I was the science fiction/fantasy geek who had her nose stuck in a Ray Bradbury novel every afternoon on the bus ride home from junior high. And yes, though I write historical romance, I still love me a good speculative fiction.

And have I got one to recommend to you.

Stillwaters is the first in a series about the fictional adventures of J.S. Freeman, a woman, a survivor, and quite the singular heroine. Author Yvonne Anderson spins a great tale, taking you to a different time and space in this epic story. Here’s a blurb:

How did she rise from the shrouds of obscurity to become one of the world’s most influential figures? The enigmatic author J. S. Freeman breaks her long silence and tells the whole tale.

In Stillwaters, the first of her three-part story, she brings us into the steamy, untamed land of her feral birth. When the City invaders capture her—they call it a rescue, but it sure doesn’t feel like it—her first life ends. She wants only to run free again on Freemansland, but circumstances take her ever farther from home, until one snowy day, her second life ends as well.

Come and see. The truth she tells is better than her fiction.
