Welcome to the Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt! If you’ve just discovered the hunt, be sure to start at Stop #1, and collect the clues through all the stops, in order, so you can enter to win one of our top 5 grand prizes!
The hunt BEGINS on 4/10 at noon Mountain with Stop #1 at LisaTawnBergren.com.
Hunt through our loop using Chrome or Firefox as your browser (not Explorer).
There is NO RUSH to complete the hunt—you have all weekend (until Sunday, 4/13 at midnight Mountain)! So take your time, reading the unique posts along the way; our hope is that you discover new authors/new books and learn new things about them.
Submit your entry for the grand prizes by collecting the CLUE on each author’s scavenger hunt post and submitting your answer in the Rafflecopter form at the final stop, back on Lisa’s site. Many authors are offering additional prizes along the way!
And guess what…I’m one of those authors. But who exactly am I? Yeah. That’s a question not even my husband has been able to answer for the past forty years.
But to those who are new here, I am Michelle Griep. Writer of words, wrangler of plots, and suspected coffee addict. I pen historical adventures with a dash of danger, a pinch of romance, and at least one character who talks to themselves—because why should I be the only one?
When I'm not torturing fictional people for fun, you can find me in my natural habitat: buried beneath a pile of books, muttering about my latest deadline like a Victorian ghost with unfinished business. You’ve come to the right place to learn more about my books (see my books page) but you can keep up with my shenanigans on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
Here’s some book news, though…my next release, Of Silver and Secrets, is coming your way June 3rd. Here’s a blurb:
In 1889 Victorian England, Eva Inman stumbles upon an ancient silver ring on her family’s cursed estate—her last hope to save it and care for her blind sister. Enter Cambridge professor Bram Webb, desperate to prove a legendary Roman settlement exists before his uncle’s secret unravels their futures. An archaeological dig brings them together—and back to painful memories they’d rather forget. As buried secrets resurface, so does a growing attraction neither of them expected.
It’s quite the Victorian romance/adventure. And one thing I like to add into all my stories are foods of the era. In Of Silver and Secrets, Eva ends up planning a charity social, one in which disasters ensue, and one of the first mishaps is the cook wanting to serve Spotted Dick instead of the agreed upon pavlova. Which begs the question…
What the Dickens is Spotted Dick?
No, it’s not a Victorian insult (though it does sound like something Scrooge might shout at a poorly performing clerk). Spotted Dick is actually a classic British dessert—and it makes a cheeky little cameo in my newest novel.
So what is it exactly? Imagine a dense, suet-based sponge cake studded with dried fruits (the “spots”) and traditionally steamed to pudding perfection. It’s served warm, often drowning in custard, because the Brits know how to do comfort food right—even if they give it names that make Americans giggle.
Making you hungry? HERE is a recipe for it.
And here are the basics for Stop #3:
If you’re interested, you can pre-order Of Silver and Secrets HERE. Plus the first 300 to do so will get some extra added goodies sent along with the book!
