A Gratitude Challenge

A reminder to show gratitude to the faithful people in our lives.

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude
of those who have lighted the flame within us.

~ Albert Schweitzer

I know. You’re busy. There are turkeys to roast and pumpkin pies to slather with whipped cream. Your schedule is cram packed full with trying to gain the requisite 5 pounds and figuring out which is the better place for your Thanksgiving afternoon nap: the La-Z-Boy or the couch. Trust me, I’m as slammed as you.

But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take time to be thankful.

So, here is my challenge to you and me. Take the time today, yes, today, right now even, and close your eyes. Think deeply about who are the few people who are always there for you. The ones who faithfully talk you off the ledge when you’re about to jump. Now thank them. Personally. Shoot 'em a text. Give 'em a call. Write 'em a note. Whatever. Just take the time to thank 2 people today. If we all do that, imagine the gratitude that will be spread around.

And that, my friends, is what the spirit of Thanksgiving is all about.
