5 Haunting Authors You Shouldn't Miss

Perfect Reads for a Dark and Stormy Night

It’s that time of year when daylight wanes far too early and the nights are long and dark…the perfect time to curl up with a book filled with shadows! Here are some of my go-to authors when I’m in the mood for a mysterious read.

1. Jaime Jo Wright
All of Jaime’s stories keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering how in the world the heroine will make it out alive. But she always does, and there’s always hope. My favorite happens to be Jaime’s latest release, On the Cliffs of Foxglove Manor.

2. Joanna Davidson Politano
Joanna pens tales that are rich in Victorian history, and what better place to set a story than in creepy, gaslit England? All her stories are worth a read but one of my favorites is Lady Jayne Disappears, which takes you to a very Dickensian workhouse in the heart of London.

3. Travis Thrasher
Thrasher writes way more than eerie thrillers, and honestly, I love all his work. Plus he’s super prolific, with tons of titles to his name. But one of his earlier series has really stuck with me. The Solitary Tales tells the creepy experiences of a high school boy who moves to a rural town and steps into a whole lot of unexplainable happenings.

4. Charlotte Bronte
I dare not leave off one of the all-time greats of literary greatness. All the Bronte sisters were remarkable in their own rights, but Charlotte managed to pen my favorite book ever. Jane Eyre. If you haven’t read this classic, now’s the time, my friend.

5. Michelle Griep
And if that’s not enough for you, you can always check out my books, which tend to be on the darker side of intrigue, especially my latest release, Lost in Darkness. Here’s a blurb:

Even if there be monsters, there is none so fierce as that which resides in man’s own heart.
Enchanting Regency-Era Gothic Romance Intertwined with Inspiration from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein…

Travel writer Amelia Balfour’s dream of touring Egypt is halted when she receives news of a revolutionary new surgery for her grotesquely disfigured brother. This could change everything, and it does. . .in the worst possible way.

Surgeon Graham Lambert has suspicions about the doctor he’s gone into practice with, but he can’t stop him from operating on Amelia’s brother. Will he be too late to prevent the man’s death? Or to reveal his true feelings for Amelia before she sails to Cairo?
