England: The Saga Continues
Good-bye London. Hello gorgeous southwestern countryside. Our goal today was to explore Cheddar Gorge, but on the way there . . . what the heck? Old things just pop up on the horizon when you least expect it.
Yeah, that was a total bonus that wasn't on the ol' itinerary. As I said, we were headed to the land of cheese, the gorgeous Cheddar Gorge . . .
We saw several brave souls climbing the cliffs, but this was as far as I got . . .
In case you're wondering, yes indeedy, this is the birthplace of cheddar cheese, hence the name, but the area is also the origin of scrumpy cider. Scrumpy comes from the noun scrump and means something withered or dried up, like apples. I haven't actually had any cheese or cider today, but there's always tomorrow, eh?
