5 Reasons to Read Belle’s Christmas Carol

I know. I hear you. You don’t actually need a reason or permission to pick up a book and give it a read . . . unless, of course, you’re avoiding doing the dishes or mowing the lawn. In that case, look no further, because I’ve got you some reasons right here, Ducky!

#1. In this crazy cold world, we can all use a little heart warming.
Are you as tired as I am of the dismal news that’s pumped out day after day for our consumption? It’s way more uplifting to read about a cute little boy named Cricket and the crazy caretakers of the orphanage who bring in everything from goats to turnips.

#2. There’s more than just a Hallmark movie vibe.
I mean, there is that, with all the cozy romance and whatnot, but this story also packs a hefty spiritual message underneath all the fun and mystery.

#3. Scrooge’s fiance deserves her own story.
I’ve always wondered about what happened to the girl who dumped Scrooge. I made up my own story so now we can all know.

#4. You can visit Victorian England without having to smell Victorian England.
All the cobblestones, gaslights, carriages, and Christmas cheer you could want, without the coal smoke, questionable plumbing, or whatever mysterious thing is lurking in the meat pie.

#5. There’s a mystery to go with your mistletoe.
Romance is all well and good, but I like a little danger with my Christmas pudding. Missing children, muddled ledgers, suspicious goings-on—it’s not all cozy fires and meaningful glances.

If that’s not enough reasons, shoot me an email and I’ll send you more ;)
