Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt Stop #7

Scavenge to Discover New Books & Authors

Welcome to the Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve just discovered the hunt, be sure to start at Stop #1, and collect the clues through all the stops—in order—so you can enter to win one of our top 5 grand prizes!

·      The hunt begins on 11/7 at noon MST with Stop #1 at LisaTawnBergren.com.

·      Hunt through the entire loop using Chrome or Firefox as your browser (not Explorer).

·      There is no rush to complete the hunt—you have all weekend (until Sunday, 11/10 at midnight MST). So, take your time, reading the unique posts along the way; our hope is that you discover new authors/new books and learn new things about them.

·      Submit your entry for the grand prizes by collecting the CLUE on each author’s scavenger hunt post and submitting your answer in the Rafflecopter form at the final stop, back on Lisa’s site. Many authors are offering additional prizes along the way!

So let’s begin, eh? Michelle Griep here. Howdy, howdy. Though that may sound southern, I live and write in the frozen tundra of Minnesota, but you don't have to travel to the frigid north to find me. Check me out on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter. I write a wide range of historical fiction, from time travel to colonial to Regency and Victorian, but my latest is just in time for the holidays, a collection of 3 tales of the season…Once Upon a Dickens Christmas.

12 Days at Bleakly Manor: Brought together under mysterious circumstances, Clara and Ben discover that what they’ve been striving for isn’t what ultimately matters. What matters most is what Christmas is all about…love.

A Tale of Two Hearts: Pleasure seeker William Barlow needs a wife immediately to gain his uncle’s inheritance, and Mina Scott is just the girl to make him look respectable—too bad she turns him down. Ought he give her a second chance?

The Old Lace Shop: Recently widowed Bella White is finally freed from the domination of the overbearing men in her life, but when she enters into a business partnership with the handsome Edmund Archer, she begins to wonder if marriage is worth a second chance.

So, why would a midwestern American be inspired to write a series of Dickensian Christmas tales? Step a little closer, friends, because I have a secret to share.

True Confession: I’m an Anglophile at Heart

Growing up I had two dreams. First, I wanted to be Lieutenant Uhura in Star Trek. But since my thighs wouldn’t look that great in such a short dress and I am not a techie at heart so communications aboard the Enterprise would’ve been zippo, I gave up that dream and moved on to the next.

Enter dream #2. I wanted to live in England. Why? So much history. So much beauty. So many delicious scones with clotted cream to eat. I still haven’t actually packed my bags and skipped across the pond for good, but I have been there many times—and each time it’s a struggle to come back home. My favorite place of all is Ironbridge.

What’s not to love about this place? It’s like stepping back in time. Entering the Shire. Living and breathing in a surreal garden of Eden. Every time I go to England (usually every other year) I make it a point to stop here. And yes, I will be setting a story in Ironbridge at some point in the near future.

I wish I could take you all with me on my next trip, but unless I win the lottery, that’s probably not going to happen. As a consolation prize, though, how about you win the scavenger hunt?

Here’s the Stop #7 Skinny:
