Creation Participation
Wowzer! Am I ever in good company for the upcoming NANOWRIMO. It seems like writers are coming out of the woodwork to participate...which brings up an interesting phenomena. Ever notice that whenever it's leaked out to a gathering of people you're a writer, invariably there is one or two kindred spirits in the bunch? What's up with that?
I suspect it's a fingerprint leftover from God. Creating with words is simply an outpouring of God's spirit within us, for He is the ultimate creator.
I suppose that's why I get a little excited whenever I begin a new story, a new creation. In a minuscule way, I'm mimicking what God did in the beginning. And as much fun as it is to begin a new tale, there's nothing like the satisfying typing of The End.
In balance, writing isn't a waste of time. It's participating in an activity that God proclaimed was very good.
Just don't lose sight of the Creator for the creation.
